Vow – is a promise or an obligation voluntarily undertaken in exchange for something.
There are two types of vows: lifelong vows ( e.g. a monastic life) and temporary vows (e.g. mother promises not to get married if God will safe her child’s life).
We should be careful with vows and oaths, as they transfer the energy to a particular direction, and it doesn’t matter whether the vows are fulfilled or not.
For example, the vow of celibacy might deprive of family ties not only in the present life, but also in future.
